Airplay is...

Airplay is more than a show, it's an institution. Join the Airplay gang every week as they open the flood gates and let the music pour in. Airplay specializes in live in-studio performances by the best and brightest. Search the performance database if you don't believe us. Three parts freaky and two parts fresh, Airplay licks it where most shows only lightly kiss.

Tim Daisy (Interview)listen!
Tim Daisy (Interview) Saturday, August 07, 2010
Tim joined us live in the studio to talk about Aerial Age, the second recording by the Chicago-based trio, Vox Arcana. Tim leads that group as drummer and composer. Vox Arcana has been in the studio to play on the show before and it was nice to have Tim back to see how things are coming along. This unusual two-year old working band features cellist Fred Lonberg-Holm and clarinetist James Falzone, Daisy's collaborators in such other prominent ensembles as KLANG and the Vandermark 5. Aerial Age documents a series of new Daisy compositions that juxtapose the structure of contemporary chamber music with the highly attuned, open-ended improvisation that distinguishes
Chicago's storied jazz scene.Interviewer: Mike Corsa
